History: – First Cousins Submarines was opened in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1972. Started as a sandwich shop by cousin brothers Bill Specht and Jim Sheppard, the restaurant soon became a favorite of local people. Until 1985, the venture was running only company owned restaurants. Then, it started franchising. In 2004, the company sold its 25 restaurants out of 40 and started focusing on franchising. Job Descriptions and Remuneration:
Majority of recruitments are done of crew members. Crew members perform cleaning, take orders, welcome guests, prepare food, maintain registers and perform routine operations. They are paid hourly wages ranging from $7 to $8. Those crew members, who are promoted to shift leader position, are paid hourly wages ranging from $10 to $11. The hourly wages paid to crew members vary from location to location. Initially, they are paid low while on-the-job training, but start getting considerable pay after successive appraisals.
Restaurant managers monitor the staff, do entry-level recruitments, perform financial and inventory operations, supervise routine operations and report to corporate headquarters. They are hired on salary, but may also be recruited on hourly wages in certain circumstances. Restaurant managers are given salary ranging from $34,000 to $37,000 per annum. If they are hired on hourly basis, their pay ranges from $16 to $18 per hour.
These restaurants operate between 07:30 AM and 09:00 PM from Monday through Friday and between 11:00 AM and 07:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, an individual has fine prospects of earning a good amount even if he/she works part time.
