History: Jack’s was founded by Jack Caddell in 1960 with first location at Homewood, Alabama. Within few years, it expanded to nine locations at the original site and few locations as far as South Carolina and Mississippi. By 1970s, it expanded to Alabama and Florida, but faced franchise failure in 1980’s. It was the time when, Benny Larussa, one of the franchisee bought 13 stores of the chain and successfully expanded them to 33 locations. In 1989, he purchased the entire chain.
