The establishment of ‘The Los Angeles County Museum of Arts’, in the form of a museum, took place in the year 1961. The LACMA earlier belonged to the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science, and Art, which was founded in the year 1910, near the University of Southern California. In the year 1965, it was shifted to Wilshire Boulevard complex, and it was an art focused, independent institution. The candidate must have a solid knowledge of working with Raiser’s Edge, MS – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Curatorial Administrator – The Curatorial Administrator is responsible for providing office support and administrative layout to the department. He reports to Director, Program of the Art of the Ancient America.
This individual is responsible for maintaining and updating the information regarding permanent collection; providing assistance to projects currently under progress which include loans, rotations of the permanent collection, and exhibitions; answers the requests made by the general public; coordinating and maintaining calendars and appointments; making arrangements for travel as required by department staff; handling and tracking of paperwork of the department; and facilitating the communication between museum staff and the department.
