History: Carl’s Jr was founded by Carl N. Karcher in 1941. Karcher began his business expedition with a single hot dog cart in 1941, which grew to four in number and led to foundation of his first restaurant Carl’s drive-in barbeque at Anaheim, California within five-year period. Later, he decided to open a chain of small restaurants called ‘Carl’s’ having a limited menu. In 1954, the brand name was changed from Carl’s to Carl’s Jr. By 1956, two Carl’s Jr restaurants were in existence differentiated from other hamburger businesses for their fast service and dine-in facility.
